A total three women were shot during worker strikes by the former governor of Bavet city, Chhouk Bandith, during worker strikes in February 2011.

Chhouk Bandith, who remains at large, allegedly fired at the crowd of demonstrators, injuring the three women.

Bun Chenda, 22, who was struck in the chest by a bullet, says she still must deal with complications with her lungs and possibly tetanus.

Keo Near, who was shot in the hand, experiences periods of dizziness, her father told VOA Khmer.

Meanwhile, their lawyer, Sary Bot Chakriya, says he has appealed to have their case reheard at the Supreme Court, but he does not know if it will be considered.
