Despite efforts by Cambodian government of Prime Minister Hun Sen to block their return to the country, leaders of the Cambodia National Rescue Party have vowed to return home on Saturday, Nov 9 -- the country's independence day.

In her tweet today, Kerstin Lundgren, deputy speaker of Swedish parliament, expresses her view on political situation in Cambodia, as the self-exiled leader of Cambodia's opposition party, Sam Rainsy plans to return to the country.

According to French Senator André Gattolin's tweet, nineteen French parliamentarians released a statement with their signatures, calling on French government and European member states to support the return plan of Sam Rainsy, the self-exiled leader of Cambodia National Rescue Party, to Cambodia.

"French parliamentarians ... declare our full and active support with the non-violent step taken by Mr. Sam Rainsy; call on France and the European Union member states to ensure the full security and give support to the leaders of Cambodia National Rescue Party," according to a media blog by Senator André Gattolin, on Nov. 6.

Just In: Cambodian armed police block a main road in Poipet, a border town with Thailand in an anticipated arrival of Sam Rainsy, the self-exiled leader of Cambodia National Rescue Party and activists who have said they plan to cross through the town to return to Cambodia on Nov. 9, the country's Independence Day.
