PHNOM PENH —
A senior aid to Prime Minister Hun Sen on Wednesday denied reports the premier has fallen ill while on a state visit to Bangladesh.
The English-language Cambodia Daily reported that Hun Sen had canceled some meetings in the capital, Dhaka, Tuesday morning.
The Daily quoted local reports on Bangladeshi Foreign Minister M. Shahriar Alam, who said Hun Sen had been ill Monday night.
However, Kao Kim Hourn, minister delegate to Hun Sen, told VOA Khmer Wednesday that Hun Sen’s health was “normal” and that the meetings were canceled as a matter of scheduling.
Reports of an ill Hun Sen come after unconfirmed reports earlier this month he had been hospitalized with a stroke. Officials said these reports, too, were rumors.
