Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Wednesday sentenced three activists to a year in prison—the second such convictions in two days.

The court on Tuesday held a swift trial for seven suspects, including prominent activist Tep Vanny, all of whom had protested the flooding of their neighborhood, faulting a development deal by the city that filled in a massive lake in the north of the capital.

Those seven activists had put a bed in the middle of the road to protest the flooding they say is caused by the Boeng Kak lake development—which also led to the evictions of thousands of families.

The three activists Wednesday, including a former monk, were charged with disturbing public order, the same charge brought against the seven activists the day before.
