The Cambodian youth robotics team finished 22nd overall in the three-day debut First Global Challenge robotics Olympics. Teams from more than 150 countries competed in the three-day event, which ended Tuesday. The six-member Cambodian team from two high schools in rural Siem Reap province said that they performed better than expected, finishing ahead of more than 120 teams. The Siem Reap science students told VOA Khmer that the competition helped them to learn to cooperate with science students from other countries. At the event closing, the leaders of First Global, which organized this first annual robotics Olympics, and World Bank president Jim Yong Kim, told attendees that the fusion of human cooperation and competition – 'coopetition' -- and the effective use of technology are both critical to solving global and generational challenges.
