As all twelve parties Sunday night were collecting nationwide results of the June 4 commune elections, VOA was interviewing key officials of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party inside the party’s headquarters in Phnom Penh. Party spokesman and National Assembly member Yim Sovann said during a Facebook Live interview that the opposition had won about 500 commune offices nationwide, an increase from a mere 40 in 2012. There are approximately 1,640 communes across Cambodia.
