The president of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), Heng Samrin, Thursday expressed concerns over the two deadly incidents in the same week.
On Monday five people were shot dead when military police opened fire on Poipet villagers who refused to leave their homes under court order.
On Wednesday prison guards shot and killed 20 prisoners who attempted to escape a prison in Kompong Cham province.
CPP president Heng Samrin blamed the officials for slacking off and for having low morality. The FUNCINPEC party and the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) are also expressing concerns. Cambodian authorities are investigating the two incidents.
