Former King Norodom Sihanouk considered the life sentencing for the Khmer-Islam terrorist suspect last month too harsh.
King Sihanouk said the man should be freed and said the harsh sentencing was to please a number of powerful countries.
The man's lawyer agreed with the king and said he would appeal the sentence
