Cambodian National Assembly overwhelmingly passed the 2005 spending budget Wednesday.
Ninety-six of the 97 members of parliament who attended the meeting today approved the 792 million-dollar budget by raising their hands.
Spending will be increased in four ministries: Education, Health, Agriculture, and Rural Development.
In the new budget, salaries of government employees is expected to be raised about 15 percent on average.
For the first time the Sam Rainsy party voted to support the budget bill.
Mr. Sam Rainsy said he supported the budget now because he feels the government has shown intention to carry out reforms and to fight corruption
