Cambodian government and human rights officials said Kevin Doyle of the Cambodia Daily, Sok Rathavisal of Radio Free Asia, and Pen Bunna of the human rights Adhoc were arrested deep in the Cambodian jungle Sunday night.
The three have been charged with human trafficking. The three people were reportedly covering the story of the Vietnamese Montagnards at the time of the arrest.
The spokesman for the Cambodian Foreign Affairs Ministry Long Visalo told reporters Monday that the three men would be released soon.
Mr. Long said the reporters and the human rights worker should not be doing the job of the UNHCR and warned that they don't do that again in the future.
