The Secretary General of the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP), Mr. Eng Chhay Eang, reported that since the national elections of July 27, 2003, 13 party activists have been killed, twelve of them politically motivated.
Mr. Kem Sokha, President of the Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR), observed that after the elections both the Sam Rainsy Party members and the FUNCINPEC members were killed about the same number. But since Prince Norodom Ranariddh, President of FUNCINPEC, decided to join talks with the Cambodian People's Party, the killings involved only the SRP activists.
