About 700 workers went on strike to demand the factory owner respect labor laws and reinstate a union shopstewart back to her job.
The demonstration turned violent when authorities confronted and tried to disperse the workers at the Jan Zhu In Garment Cambodia Co. LTD in Ang Snuol of Kandal province.
At least two of the demonstrators were injured when police pulled them down from their motobike. The demonstrators claimed the factory owner did not respect labor laws, violated the workers' rights and freedom by forcing them to work overttime, and illegally dismissed a union representative.
