Nhek Bun Chhay, secretary-general of government coalition partner Funcinpec, denied Tuesday any involvement with drug trafficking, after Cambodian police netted 18 people in two separate arrests Sunday.
Authorities said one of the men arrested was an adviser to Nhek Bun Chhay, but the top royalist party official said his adviser was innocent.
Police arrested 14 Cambodians, three Taiwanese and one Thai in Kampong Speu province and confiscated three tons of drugs and drug-making material during elections Sunday.
