Bush to Speak on Global Terrorism in Atlanta

President Bush is expected to address the global war on terror again Thursday, in the latest in a series of speeches leading up to the fifth anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States.

Officials say he will speak in (the southeastern U.S. city of) Atlanta, Georgia, where a domestic terrorist bombing killed one person during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games.

Mr. Bush acknowledged for the first time Wednesday that agents with the CIA had interrogated terror suspects at secret overseas locations. He also said 14 of those suspects are now at the U.S. military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

In the same speech, Mr. Bush also urged Congress to approve the creation of military commissions to try the detainees. The government considers them "enemy combatants."

Mr. Bush said one of the transferred men is Khalid Sheik Mohammed - the alleged mastermind of the September 11th attacks on the United States in 2001.
