Former Police Commissioner Plans to Reveal More Secrets

After former police commissioner Heng Pov reveals murders and serious crimes alledgedly involved with top officials and government leaders, the Ministry of Interior officials put conditions for any country to choose, either Mr. Heng Pov or the government.

Ministry of Interior's spokesman Lieutenant General Khieu Sopheak says that any country can grant political asylum to Mr. Heng Pov, but up to now he has not seen any country grant political asylum to him.

Mr. Heng Pov has revealed murders and serious crimes implicated to Prime Minister Hun Sen, National Police Commissioner, Mr. Hok Lundy, and Mr. Hun Sen's close associates.

Those crimes and murders are: 1997 grenade attacks on innocent demonstrators in front of the National Assembly building, leaving 16 dead and about 100 injured, actress Pisith Pelika's murder, former Ministry of Interior's state secretary Ho Sok, as well as two big drug traffickings.

Mr. Heng Pov's charges were done after he fled Cambodia abroad, in the wake of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court charged him of murders and crimes, including judge Sok Sethamony's killing. Meanwhile, Mr. Heng Pov himself is wanted by Cambodian authorities and Interpol.

Cambodian officials and National Police Commissioner Hok Lundy dismiss these charges, saying they are distortions, and defaming the government, to get foreign government to grant the asylum.

These officials say that any country that takes Mr. Heng Pov in, is likely to shelter a terrorist.

It is not known where Mr. Heng Pov is right now, but police officials allege that he still is residing in Singapore.

Brigadier General Keo Vanthan, first deputy director of the Interpol office in Phnom Penh, and Lieutenant General Khieu Sopheak, allege that up to now, no country has accepted Mr. Heng Pov's request yet.

The Cambodia Daily publishes a report based on Mr. Heng Pov's lawyer, saying his client has plans to reveal more secrets.
