Bangkok-based Asian Forum Human Rights and Development or Forum-Asia (AFHRD) Tuesday pushes U.N. human rights organization for a fast measure to solve important human rights issues in Cambodia, including the jurist selection for the Khmer Rouge tribunal.
The Forum-Asia press release says AFHRD issues an open letter Tuesday coinciding with U.N. high commissioner for human rights representative Louise Arbour's 5-day visit to Cambodia.
Executive Director of Forum-Asia Anselmo Lee considers Ms. Arbour' visit as timely in helping to improve recent difficult issues.
He says that another issue is the independence and capabilities of the jurists for the Khmer Rouge tribunal.
