The Phnom Penh Municipal court's judge Ang Vong Vatana says Wednesday that legal experts are thinking about some measures to change defamation charges to a new criminal code after Prime Minister Hun Sen proposed Tuesday.
Judge Ang says that he is looking for measures to change defamation charges to a new criminal code so that the defendants will not be detained and will only pay some money.
The prime minister called for the abolishment of criminal penalties for defamation.
