Deputy PM Urges Thailand to Extradite Two Border Activists


Cambodia wants to see Thailand implement extradition agreement between the two countries in order to extradite two Cambodian border activists who fled to Thailand in October after their names were on the arrest list by the Cambodian authorities.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreitn Affairs Hor Nam Hong told reporters at the airport today (Wednesday) that Thailand must implement extradition agreement. He says that both Cambodia and Thailand must extradite the criminals. Mr. Ea Channa acting secretary of the Student's Movement for Democracy and Mr. Men Nath president of the Association of Civil Servants of the Kingdom of Cambodia fled to Thailand after being accused of criticizing the government on border issues, days after two border activists were arrested and sent to Prey Sar prison. Beehive 105 FM radio station' owner Mam Sonando, and president of Cambodian Independent Teachers Association Men Nath were arrested on charges of defaming the government.
