Ex King Wants Khmer Rouge Tribunal Expanded

Former King, Norodom Sihanouk, Tuesday appeals to the international tribunal to try the former Khmer Rouge leaders from the genocidal killing fields, along with the Republicans and some Khmer Kampuchea Krom groups.

He added these people made the Khmer Rouge communist regime strong and killed their own people. The former King denounced these people in his message on August 4th from Beijing to his people, appealing to the international tribunal to try former Marshall Lon Nol, Prince Sisowath Sirikmatak, and the Khmer Kampuchea Krom who became public through their e-mails, preparing a coup d'etat, and destroyed the nation since March 18, 1970, and to try them along with former Khmer Rouge leaders, Khiev Samphan, Ieng Sary, Norodom Sihanouk, and Ta Mok.

A number of Khmer Kampuchea Krom accused the former King of signing a treaty with the French and thus gave the Cochinchine which belonged to Cambodia to Vietnam, a charge which the former Monarch denied.
