The U.S. Senate has confirmed Joseph Mussomeli to be the new U.S. ambassador to Cambodia.
The 53-year-old Mr. Mussomeli is a 25 year veteran of the foreign service and currently serves as Deputy Chief of Mission in Manila, Philippines.
Before his post in Manila, Mr. Mussomeli held the number two post at the U.S. embassy in Bahrain and served as political counselor in Morocco. He has also held posts in Egypt, Sri Lanka and at the State Department in Washington.
Mr. Mussomeli's arrival date in Phnom Penh has not yet been set.
