The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) will hold a public forum Tuesday July 5, 2005 in Prime Minister hometown to find out how popular or unpopular the Cambodian leader is in his backyard.
CCHR president Kem Sokha said Steng Trang is PM Hun Sen birthplace and he hopes that people there would share with him their opinion of the Cambodian leader.
Like previous public forums, CCHR has invited representatives from the three major parties to answer villagers' questions during the public forum.
CCHR, funded by the US based International Republican Institute (IRI) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), suspended its public forum activities for a while after PM Hun Sen had criticized it for using Buddhist temples to launch attacks on other people.
The head monk of the Steng Trang pagoda said as part of the democratic process, he opens his temple to anyone who wants to speak.
