The US Embassy’s press release on Tuesday in Phnom Penh announced that aid in the amount of $34,700 000 dollars will be administered for Cambodian health services and education.
The Minister of the Health Department, Nouth Sokhom, welcomed this aid and said that it would help both the country’s health and education system.
The assistance is for the AIDS epidemic, mother and child welfare and strengthening health personnel specialties. The aid is to be administered by the NGOs.
The remaining aid is for basic education, such as improving the quality of instruction, teacher trainings, classroom activities and twenty-one other related activities.
Nouth said that the prior friendly nation’s aids have help cut down the AIDS epidemic from 3% to 1.9%.
