Reports from Iraq say a suicide bomb attack in the northern Kurdish city of Arbil has killed at least 45 people and wounded many others.
Local officials say the bomber blew himself up Wednesday near a group of police recruits, who are frequently targeted by insurgents.
The attack comes a day after Iraq's new interim government was sworn-in following months of political haggling. But Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari is still trying to fill five ministries - including the key defense and oil portfolios.
Commenting after the swearing in ceremony, Mr. al-Jaafari acknowledged that the failure to name a full cabinet is a setback. But he predicted the remaining posts, which are designated for Sunni Arabs, will be filled in a few days.
