The United States government has not changed its position regarding the kidnapping of the more than 90 rescued prostitutes even after the Cambodian Ministry of the Interior attempted to explain its version of the incidents.
The Interior Minister said the rescued workers broke out of the shelter on their own with the help of their relatives from the outside.
The US embassy in Phnom Penh still insists that "we still believe it's time for the authority to credibly investigate this event, to bring to justice those who are responsible and above all to protect the women and girls involved
