After a one-week lull along the Khmer-Thai border, the Cambodian authorities reported a renewed tension between Cambodian border guards and Thai military force in Poipet area, northwestern Banteay Meanchey province.
The Cambodian military spokesman in Poipet said the new confrontation occured Friday when a Thai military unit sneaked accross the border to destroy a fence built by the Cambodian villagers before the Buddhist New Year.
