CPP Spokesman Said Negotiations Should be Done in the March 28th Meeting - 2004-03-22

CPP spokesman Khieu Kahnarith said CPP and FUNCINPEC should remain silent about their political agendas until the March 28th meeting between the two parties' working groups.

Since the Ranariddh-Hun Sen meeting, the two political parties have been using the media to air their agenda for the upcoming meeting.

CPP wants the new congress to vote for the prime minister and the president of the parliament at the same time.

FUNCINPEC and the Sam Rainsy party, together known as the Alliance of Democrats, want to see many reforms including the creation of a ministry to handle the immigration issue.

FUNCINPEC and CPP's working groups are scheduled to meet on March 28.
