US and Japan Urge Peaceful Solution to Deadlock - 2003-08-07

With the ruling party not likely to achieve a two-thirds majority victory, the US and Japan urge peaceful cooperation among the three major parites.

One day before the National Election Committee announces the preliminary results of last month's Parliamentary election, the US and Japan appealed to the three major parties--the Cambodian People's Party, the FUNCINPEC Royalist party and the Sam Rainsy party--to try and resolve peacefully their differences without resorting to violence.
