Prominent Russian Businessman Charged With Sex Crimes

Influential businessman Alexander Tromfimov, who recently put together a $300 million investment deal to develop an island off the Cambodian coast, has been arrested and charged with debauchery, officials said.

The charges allege the Russian man, who recently signed a 99-year lease for the development of Snake Island, had sex with seven underage girls, one as young as 10, in the port city of Sihanoukville.

Cambodia has long been a hot spot for international pedophiles. In recent years, some have been arrested and jailed and others have been arrested and released under dubious circumstances.

Cambodia police are currently on the lookout for suspected pederast Christopher Paul Neil, who is being sought by Interpol in a worldwide manhunt and thought to be in Thailand, the Associated Press reported.
