Two royalist party leaders plan to meet Saturday to strengthen their political alliances, according to officials.
Prince Sisowath Thomico's ‘Sangkum Jatiniyum’ party and Prince Ranariddh's ‘Norodom Ranariddh’ party look to strategize a plan to win votes at the ballot box for the April election.
At the same time, Thomico reveals plan to invite SRP leader Sam Rainsy to join the royalist forces in the near future. Prince Thomico wants the royalists to sever political ties with Prime Minister Hun Sen's Cambodian People's Party (CPP), and hopes to strengthen Cambodia’s monarchy with Prince Ranariddh.
In October, FUNCINPEC ousted Prince Ranariddh and he later formed a new party, called Norodom Ranariddh Party that was officially recognized by the Ministry of Interior on November 28.
