Members of the Border Council Arrive in China

Members of the National Border Council have arrived in Beijing, China Tuesday afternoon, according to sources close to the Royal Palace and the border council.

The seven-member delegation and many border experts will meet with former King Norodom Sihanouk, the chairman of the council tomorrow (Wednesday, May 11, 2005) to look at existing documents and to find ways to solve the border issues with Cambodia's neighbors.

Former King Sihanouk has accused the three neighbors: Thailand, Vietnam and Laos of encroaching Cambodia's border continuously.

Sources close to the degelation told VOA by phone that the delegation has no meeting for Tuesday night. They will meet at 8:30am Wednesday under the leadership of former King Sihanouk.
