Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered a stop to the HIV drug test project funded in part by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The new Cambodian Minister of Health Nuth Sokhom told reporters the prime minister had told him for the third time to stop any efforts to conduct the drug test on Cambodian people.
The minister said Mr. Hun Sen was concerned about the health of the Cambodian participants.
The Cambodian Women's Network for Unity, which represents sex workers, supported the prime minister's order and wrote a letter to thank him for saying no to the test.
