An opposition party activist in Bantey Meanchey province said Monday he fears for his life, after the court summoned him for his involvement in a land dispute.
Math Yuy, recently elected chief for the Sam Rainsy Party, said he was worried about his safety because he led a group of people to build huts on a piece of land in order to prevent a land grab. He said he needs a lawyer.
Former commune chief Khin Soh said he told the villagers not to build huts, but they did not listen.
